The Virgin Islands Next Generation Network (viNGN) is a public corporation – a wholly owned subsidiary of the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority. viNGN was primarily funded by grants from the Department of Commerce with a charter to provide wholesale broadband middle mile service to providers and to promote local economic growth, innovation and global competitiveness. The grants awarded were:
- State Broadband Data Development (SBDD)
- Comprehensive Community Initiative (CCI)
- Public Computer Center (PCC)
- Sustainable Broadband Adoption (SBA)
viNGN provides world class open access, high speed, all-fiber optic broadband connectivity. With speeds up to 10 Gbps, viNGN has made the Virgin Islands the only fully interconnected jurisdiction of all 50 states and 6 territories, and leads the Technological Revolution. viNGN is committed to the continued broadband infrastructure, economic, and community development of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
