The viNGN Broadband Business & Technology Meeting, was held on Monday, October 7, 2013 @ 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the University of the Virgin Islands Great Hall on the St. Croix campus and at the Administration & Conference Center, 1st Floor Conference Room on the St. Thomas campus (linked via video conference). viNGN has commenced connecting fiber to all CAIs beginning with those in Fredricksted and then continuing with those in St. Thomas.

Community Anchor Institutions (CAI) are classified by the Federal Government as being schools, libraries, medical & health care providers, colleges, community support organizations, and government agencies. All CAI’s will receive free of charge, all equipment and an actual physical fiber connection linking CAI sites to viNGN’s fiber optic network providing “middle mile” connectivity of bandwidth. ISP will then connect into the viNGN equipment installed at CAI locations, and provide “last mile” bandwidth connectivity.
